Duane is an admitted attorney and SAIT Master Tax Practitioner, specialising in South African Value-Added Tax. He has previously worked as a senior tax manager at one of the Big 4 accounting firms and thereafter as a Senior Specialist within the Legal and Policy division of the South African Revenue Service (SARS), before joining Renmere in 2025.

Whilst at SARS, Duane was previously involved in the preparation of VAT rulings and policy documents, as well as advising on tax disputes including Alternative Dispute Resolution and Tax Court Litigation. His focus areas include VAT advisory, technical opinions, reviews, ruling submissions, training and due diligence.
